Diseased tree with multiple cankers. Margins of cankers are rough, soft, cheesy, dark brown, and have scalloped water-soaked spots that turn brown. Multiple cankers may girdle and kill small twigs.

Leaves with brown necrotic lesions and chlorotic margins. Symptoms vary greatly among cultivars. Some have black or brown lesions with bright yellow, chlorotic areas and others do not have yellowing.
